Why is it necessary to overcome?

First, Jesus said: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father is perfect.”  Matthew 5:48  God will never tell us to do something if it’s not possible.  He will give the determined repentant person grace which is Gods forgiveness and enabling power to overcome all sin.

“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” -Ezekiel 33:11

The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  We have all sinned, and come short of the glory of God. -Romans 3:23  Because we have all have sinned, we deserve DEATH, the final death in the lake of fire.  But Jesus came to earth and died on the cross and paid the “final death” for all who accept Him.  Not all will accept Christ’s perfect Character.

“Put on the full armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” -Ephesians 6:11  Gods armor includes the Belt of truth, Breastplate of righteousness, Shoes of the gospel of peace, Shield of faith, Helmet of salvation and the Sword of the spirit.” -Ephesians 6:10-18.  Those who reject the instruction to put on the “full” armor of God will fall for the Devils tricks and be lost.

This is God’s plan of salvation for us.  God does not want anyone to perish. -2 Peter 3:9

Satan hates God because God kicked him out of Heaven for the sin of coveting Gods position among other sins.  So, if God kicked Satan out of Heaven for sin, why do sinners think God will tolerate a sinful person in heaven?  Nahum 1:9 “What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it.  Affliction will not rise up a second time.”  The affliction that disrupted heaven was sin.  God has promised that sin will not rise up a second time.

Isaiah 59:2 says: “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”  There are many teachers teaching that God is a liar.  Yes.  They say, God will “declare us righteous” even though we are sinning up until the end of time.  If God is going to “declare sinners righteous” and we will be sinning until Jesus comes, then why hasn’t he done it already and saved us all the misery?  Does God enjoy seeing his children suffer?  No!  Ezekiel 33:11 says: “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

So, why doesn’t God “declare us righteous” even though we are still sinning?  The teaching that Christians will be sinning up until Jesus comes and Jesus will declare us righteous, is a lie from Satan, and Satan would win the great controversy.  The Bible says: God can not lie so he will never “declare” someone righteous who is not righteous.  Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie…”  and Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 2:13 and Hebrews 6:18.

“Where there is a lack of home religion, a profession of faith is valueless.... Many are deceiving themselves by thinking that the character will be transformed at the coming of Christ, but there will be no conversion of heart at His appearing. Our defects of character must here be repented of, and through the grace of Christ we must overcome them while probation shall last.”

“…If God’s people make no efforts on their part, but wait for the refreshing (power of God) to come upon them and remove their wrongs and correct their errors; if they depend upon that to cleanse them from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the loud cry of the third angel, they will be found wanting. The refreshing or power of God comes only on those who have prepared themselves for it by doing the work which God bids them, namely, cleansing themselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 132.

Then the Bible says: “But as he, which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; for it is written: Be ye holy, for I am holy.” -1 Peter 1:15-16

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” -1 Corinthians 15:53  In other words, this corruptible mind must put on the mind of Christ (which is incorruptible) NOW.  When Jesus comes again, those who have the mind of Christ, the incorruptible, perfect mind/character of Christ, will put on immortality at the second coming of Christ.  The implied inverse is also true.   If you don’t put on the incorruptible mind/character of Christ, you won’t go to heaven.

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” -1 Corinthians 15:50.  When the Bible says “flesh and blood” it is indicating the “carnal nature”, so, in this verse, the Bible indicates the carnal nature will not inherit the kingdom of God.  The verse goes on to say: neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  In other words, sin (corruption) will not inherit the kingdom of heaven, (incorruption).

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am sat down with My Father in His throne.” -Revelation 3:21.  We must overcome sin and put on Christ’s character NOW, before it is too late.  It will be too late when Jesus stands up and say: “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” -Revelation 22:11  Please do not hesitate.  Pray now and ask God to give you His Victory to overcome your sins today.  Time is short.  Jesus loves you and He is coming back very soon for sinners who have overcome sin.  If I didn’t love you, I would not waste my time and money for this website.  Now is the time.  God will give you grace to overcome all your sins.  GRACE = God’s forgiveness AND enabling power to overcome every defect of character.  See Ерh. 1:7; II Cor. 12:9-10
